A funeral service celebrating the life of Elaine B. Wayt, age 90, of Newark, will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29, at The Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, with Pastor Bill Wayt officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
Elaine passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Price Road Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born February 1, 1927 in Buffalo, Ohio to the late Raymond and Verna (O’Conner) Saultz.
Elaine graduated from Valley Local High School in Buffalo, Ohio in 1945 and was a life-long homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was married to her loving husband Don for 49 years. Elaine dearly loved music and instantly loved, befriended, or adopted anyone who even hummed in her presence.
Elaine was one of the greatest encouragers who ever lived and was an undying cheerleader for everyone. She loved her family and was a mastermind in devising plans to bring them all together. Elaine made a lasting impression wherever she went.
Elaine is survived by two sons, Donald W. and Brenda (Fisher) Wayt and William K. and Maureen (Walters) Wayt; a daughter, Cathy J. and Russ Dillon; six grandchildren, Tim and Michelle (Sidle) Wayt, Kelly Wayt, Dustin Wayt, Heather and Dave Smith, Holly Wayt, and Jessie and Sean Wright; twelve great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Virginia Terry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald M. Wayt; infant twin sons, Larry and Jerry; a grandson, Raymond; three siblings, Avanel Saultz, Donna Lee (Carl) Stephenson and Glen “Buddy” (Helen) Saultz and a brother-in-law, Joe Terry.
