Obituary
A funeral service celebrating the life of Glenn W. Michael, 85, of Newark, will be held on Monday, December 4, at 11 a.m. at The Newark Chapel Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service.
Glenn passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Newark Care and Rehabilitation. He was born on April 28, 1932 to the late Lyle and Ora (Cosner) Michael.
Glenn would like to be remembered as a happy, silly man who had a great sense of humor and could tell a good joke. He loved to talk and spend time with family and friends, especially his granddaughter.
Glenn was a dedicated employee of the Licking County Highway Department for eighteen years before retiring. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors, taking walks and volunteering at the Buckeye Scenic Railroad where he was a greeter.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Barbara A. Lightle of Newark; granddaughter, Lisa M. Lightle of Newark; and three siblings all of West Virginia.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Mary W. Michael (March 1994) and six siblings.
Family and friends may call two hours prior to the service (from 9 -11 a.m.) on Monday, December 4, at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Newark Memorial Gardens.
