A funeral service celebrating the life of Betty L. Carson, age 91, of Heath, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 8, at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens.
Betty passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). She was born May 25, 1926 in Licking County to the late Herbert “Pete” and Daisy Channell.
Betty was a graduate of Newark High School. She was a proud grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her beloved family. She enjoyed decorating her home for the holidays and making her famous peanut butter fudge and delicious fudge cookies. (She enjoyed eating those sweets too!) She adored her dog, Paisley, and loved sitting on the patio that her husband built for her, especially while reading the latest Hollywood gossip.
She is survived by her son, Christopher “Chris” Carson; two daughters, Courtney (Ken Sontag) Carson and Cindy L. (Richard) Knox; five grandchildren, Brian (Cathy) Wills; Alan Carson; Kendall Carson, Kylie Henderson, Gannon Knox; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth “Kenny” Carson (1971); a daughter, Cheryl Wills; and 3 brothers and her special friend, Cretis Webb.
Friends and relatives may call one hour prior to the service (from 10 – 11 a.m.) on Friday, December 8, at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark.
Memorial contributions can may be made in care of the funeral home.
