Rollin D. “Rollo” Hannum, age 87, of Newark, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio) following a brief illness. He was born January 18, 1931 in Newark to the late Earl R. and Bessie (Twining) Hannum.
Rollo was a 1948 graduate of Granville High School. He worked 45 years for Licking County employed by the Licking County Engineers and was Superintendent of the Licking County Highway Department for 20 years. Rollo was a Veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Granville First Presbyterian Church and a member of Moundbuiders Country Club for over 55 years. He won the Men's Club Championship in 1975 at both Moundbuilders Country Club and Granville Golf Club.
He is survived by his wife, Cinda K. (Mudd) whom he married April 9, 2016; a step-daughter, Rachael A. Mudd of Newark, Ohio; a niece, Frances (Gregg) Ferguson of Midland, Michigan; great-nieces, Kristina Ross (Douglas) Trenkamp of Van Buren, Ohio and Stephanie Ross Niehaus of Savannah, Georgia; and a nephew, Richard (Anita) Ross of Ottawa, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of nearly 64 years, Charlene L. (McCafferty) Hannum, a sister, Elma Jean of Newark; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles E. and Mary L. Hannum and a niece, Kathryn A. "Kitty" Ross of Ottawa, Ohio.
Private graveside services will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville at a later date.
