Diana K. Simco, age 68, of Newark, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
She was born April 16, 1948 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Frank J. and Maxine (Hood) Swartz.
Diana was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed. She had worked with the Englefield Oil Company in the office for twenty years retiring in December 2016. Diana enjoyed reading on her tablet and camping with her husband on weekends at Hidden Hills Campground. Most of all she was very caring and loved taking care of her family.
Diana was a member of the Buckeye Lake Loyal Order of Moose #2434 and the Newark Elks #391. One of Diana’s favorite hobbies was playing the slot machines at the area casinos and partaking in various other games of chance.
She is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Thomas Lee Simco, whom she married September 7, 1968; a son, Franklin W. Simco of Buckeye Lake; two daughters, Tonya M. Simco of Buckeye Lake and Melissa L. (Leigh) Vaubel of Heath; a brother, Frank (Leanne) Swartz of Zanesville; two sisters, Bonnie Staggers and Darlene Williams, both of Newark; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life dinner for Diana will be held at the Englefield Oil Company Activity Room, 447 James Parkway, Heath on Friday, April 14 from 3-6 p.m., located within the Mid Ohio Industrial Park.
The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark, is assisting the Simco family with arrangements.
