A funeral service celebrating the life of Lenora A. “Nonnie” Morgan, age 88, of Granville, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 6, at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Reverend Stan Ratliff, officiating. Burial to follow at Hanover Cemetery.
Nonnie passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at Middleton Senior Living in Granville. She was born February 21, 1930 in Hanover to the late John E. “Andy” and Mary Ellen (Livingstone) Thompson.
She was a graduate of Hanover-Tobsoso High School with the class of 1948. Nonnie married Eurie Lee on September 3, 1949. Nonnie was a dedicated mother and grandmother and always put her family first. She and Eurie Lee were long-term proprietors at the Perryton General Store. Nonnie was very well known in her community because of her listening ear and caring heart. She was beloved by her community. Nonnie also enjoyed spending time with her family and her friends.
She is survived by her son, Greg (Deborah) Morgan; daughter, Susie (Larry) Ables; three grandsons, Justin (Leslie) Morgan, Brian (Keri) Morgan and Jamison “Tyler” (Sarah) Ables; four great-grandchildren, Ellison Blair, Saylor Elaine, Bayla Kate and Cooper Lee; brother-in-law, William (Judy) Morgan and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Nonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Eurie Lee Morgan (2006) and eight sisters, Frances Carson, Betty Hoy, Bernice Mitchell, Mary Clem, Jean Wilson, Esther Willard, Catherine Thompson, and Grace Pound; two brothers, Kenneth Thompson and Wayne Thompson.
The family wishes to thank the nurses, staff and associates of Middleton Senior Living for the care and support they gave our mother.
