Joann (Wulff) Gault, age 88, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Arlington Nursing Care Center.
She was born April 6, 1930 in Liberty Center, Ohio to the late Harry and Florence (Gray) Wulff.
Joann was a 1948 graduate of Napoleon High School. She met the love of her life and father of her six children, Galen B. Gault, while dancing the Waltz on roller skates at the hometown roller rink. They were wed October 22, 1950 and began raising their family. Joann enjoyed quilting and embroidery work. Her creativity was put to work at Johnson’s floral shop in Lima, OH. She liked to travel with her husband who visited work clients all across the country. While traveling, Joann survived the great earthquake in San Francisco in 1989.
She was an active member of Highwater Congregational United Church of Christ and was a lifelong member of St. John’s United Church of Christ. Joann always looked forward to talking with her grandchildren and was a very proud grandmother. Joann’s dogs and cats were also dear to her heart.
In addition to her husband, Galen of 68 years, she is survived by her four sons, Michael (Ruth) Gault, Dennis (Cathy) Gault, Roger (Carol) Gault and Douglas (Rhonda) Gault; two daughters, Suzanne McPeek and Brenda (Douglas) Dailey; eight grandchildren, Josh Gault, Justin Gault, Katherine (Dustin) Gordon, Samantha (Chris) Parkinson, Erik Galen (Kristen) McPeek, Alexis (Jeff) Mollica, Matthew McGuire and John McGuire; two step-grandchildren, Ryan (Ashley) Ellis and Matthew Dailey; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Paul McPeek; and two brothers, John (Connie) Wulff and Robert Wulff.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 5 from 9-11 a.m. at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 N. Fifth Street, Newark. A graveside service will be held at 12 Noon at Martinsburg Methodist Cemetery (Clay Township) followed by a Memorial Service at 1:30 p.m. at the Highwater Congregational United Church of Christ, 1213 Dutch Lane Road, Newark, where a meal will be provided after the service.
