He was born April 10, 1952 in Newark, Ohio to the late William and Florence (Klein) Decker.
Terry was an avid fisherman who loved fishing, especially in the Muskingum River. He also enjoyed watching his favorite football teams, The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns play. Terry was an excellent cook, creating different types of beef jerky and preparing delicious turtle soup for his family and friends. As an avid Ohio Lottery player, Terry loved his lottery workout with his brother.
As a music lover, Terry was fortunate enough to be a security guard working numerous rock-n-roll concerts at Legend Valley during the 1970’s and 80’s. He witnessed many of the top acts of the day perform including, The Charlie Daniels Band, The Grateful Dead, Journey, Foghat, The Scorpions, Ted Nugent, The Outlaws, The Cars, Willie Nelson, Cheap Trick, Eddie Money, Molly Hatchet, Hank Williams, Jr., The Allman Brothers Band and many, many more.
But spending time with his grandchildren was what was most important to Terry. He was also a member of the Heath Eagles, had a wonderful sense of humor and will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his two daughters, Terra S. Metz of East Fultonham and Samantha S. Jones of Newark; a brother, Richard Burden of Newark; six grandchildren, Mackenzie Metz, Malea Metz, Cameron Mitchell, Trinity Mitchell, Katie Bernardo and Austin Bernardo; and several sisters.
