A funeral service celebrating the life of Clara R. Keller, age 75, of Hebron, will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, at The Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 1249 Hebron Road, with Pastor Jeff Holman officiating.
Clara passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, February 8, 2019 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). She was born March 7, 1943 in Newark, Ohio to the late Franklin and Velma (Chism) Meisenhelder.
Clara was a woman of strong Christian faith, worshiping at Bethel Apostolic Church for over forty years. She loved her church family and is now looking forward to spending eternity with her Lord. Clara was a dedicated and honorable woman who never met a stranger. One of her favorite sayings was “God bless your heart”. She really loved her children and grandchildren and it always made her smile and laugh when they visited.
She was a kind and caring home health aide for about 20 years, before retiring in 2009. Clara was always one to tell a good joke, enjoyed taking walks and writing poetry. She was known to seek out treasures at Goodwill, flea markets and garage sales. Clara had a love for her candy bars and Little Debbie Chocolate Rolls. She loved to make people laugh and enjoyed doing the “Broom Dance” was one of her favorites dances.
She is survived by her husband of twenty three years, Howard S. Keller, whom she married on September 12, 1995; five children, Carla (Art) Chonko of Granville, Marie (Eric) Rardain of Harrisburg, PA, Gene (Julie) Lamp of Hebron, Cathy Lamp of Benson, NC and Marla (Jami) Bazzle of Macon, NC; seven grandchildren, Miranda, Brianna, Kelsey, Austin, Deagan, Haleigh and John; four siblings Margie, Jim, Rita and Kathy; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; stepchildren; step-grandchildren; and many step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Clara is preceded in death by her first husband, Gene Lamp (1987); a son, Brian Lamp (2012), a stillborn daughter, Penny (1969); two brothers, Bob (2007) and David Meisenhelder (2011); and a sister, Jean Lamp (2012).
Family and friends may call two hours prior to the service (from 1-3 p.m.), on Sunday, February 10, at The Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 1249 Hebron Road, Heath.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Clara’s name to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, Post Office Box 430, Newark, Ohio 43058-0430.
