Viola L. Bell, age 71, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020 at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon.
She was born April 4, 1949 in Mount Vernon, Ohio to the late Othar P. and Mabel A. (Stickle) Kennedy.
Viola was a 1967 graduate of Fredericktown High School. She loved to knit, create different crafts, cook, and sew. One of Viola’s favorite times of the year was getting the family together at Christmastime. Viola was a very kind person and will long be remembered as a caring daughter, who took very good care of her mother, in her later years of life. She was also active with the Order of The Eastern Star and deeply loved her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Brian C. (Christy) Bell; and a daughter, Stephanie Sharp; two brothers, Searl R. Kennedy and Othar P. Kennedy, Jr.; a sister, Nellie Springer; and three grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Kennedy and Roland Kennedy; and an infant sister, Tammy Bell.
No calling hours or services will be observed. Inurnment will take place at Wilson Cemetery at a later date.
The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street, is assisting the Bell family with arrangements.
